UNITED STATES EMBASSY, WEAC ZAMBIA LAUNCH WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS TRAINING

United States of America Embassy and Women’s Entrepreneur Access Center (WEAC) have launched the phase two application for the Academy of Women Entrepreneur (AWEs) which closes on August 31, 2020.

US Embassy Public Affairs officer, Sean Melntosh says the launched program is part of the White House led Women’s Global Development and prosperity initiative.

This is contained in a statement availed to the media by Mr Melntosh.

Mr Melntosh said the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWEs) will empower about 150 women between the ages of 18 and 65 who will be selected to participate in the program.

He said phase one of the program was implemented by the Women’s Entrepreneur Access Center Zambia (WEAC) and Bongo Hive which started in July 2019 and concluded its program in July 2020 with 100 participants from Lusaka.

Mr Melntosh said the participants who successfully completed the training will qualify to compete for grant seed funding from the United States Africa Development Fund.
